We offer limited horses under saddle each year from green broken to out competing in their field with good results.
We break horses at 3 yo and usually turn them out to grow for 6 - 12 months. We then bring them back into work and start small local competitions to build their confidence. We give them light work on our grass arena and on our cross country course out with the cows.

Wilkens Estate Spitfire
7 yo dapple grey gelding with a calm and agreeable attitude. Super eventing or showjumping prospect and shows talent for the higher grades. Performance bred with bloodlines of Hunter's Scendix, Belcam Agassi and Snow Vain.
Hunter's Scendix the black Stakkato son was approved in 2005 in Verden (Hannover) and fulfilled in 2006 his 70 days test with excellent results (9.0) for free and parcours jumping. In 2006 he got very easily approved in Switzerland.
Belcam Agassi (Benaloo Rose xx, Argentinus) has proven himself to produce competitive horses with a talent for jumping, along with excellent type and temperament.
The infusion of TB blood through Silveneer, Snow Vain and Pride of Gaekwar means that Spitfire has the necessary blood to event.
He is a very pretty gelding with a gentle personality, easy to handle and not tricky to ride. Holds a nice frame and has a great canter.
Competed lightly last year in 60cm and 80cm eventing classes with good results for a green horse. Does not get hot or strong XC.
Had a nice break over the last few months and is now in regular training and starting to climb the grades. Currently training 1m at home.
Recently placed 4th at Harden Horses trials with a dressage score of 68.60% and clear XC.

Wilkens Estate Lilo
Talented 5 year old mare by Licosto from Northern Andromeda II. Trainable and friendly, refined and feminine. One of my favourites and could pursue many disciplines such as dressage, eventing or showing. She has a lovely big elevated movement with agility and cadence. Loads of swing through the back, exceptional walk and lovely balanced canter.
Her Dam and Sire both have performance pedigrees with proven trainable temperaments and it shows in this mare.
Licosto is a super riding horse with an excellent brain. He has the right amount of noble Thoroughbred blood in him from the Celle stallion Licoto xx and is also an outstanding looking stallion. He boasts three impressive gaits, charm and elegance and has already shown to be outstanding in competition.
Her Dam Northern Andromeda II has the bloodlines of Northern Apollo III and Northern Congress, she has a double cross of the great Cor De La Bryer.

Quiet ISH gelding
Wilkens Estate Connaught is a very quiet and easy to ride. Not spooky or highly strung. He is 9yo, 17.2hh and has been out competing to 80cm and prelim dressage. He had 6 months of vaulting training and is ridden by my young daughters on lead line and in the arena.

Belcam Sienna
By the deceased stallion Sirocco, out of Additions - a mare who is a proven producer of jumping horses. Sienna has a super sweet personality which she passes on to her foals and an outstanding movement. Stunning to look at and nice and compact at 16hh. Very easy to handle, trim, float, worm, vaccinate and scan.
